Movements like socialism and communism have been happening for a long time - well before Karl Marx & friends. Robespierre of the French Revolution comes to mind. And strangely, it is not poverty, it is not oppression, it is not tyranny that kicks it off. It's bored rich kids with time on their hands and nobody around to slap their mouths.
